The fertile soil of the Eferdinger basin provides the ideal conditions for cultivating - and thereby enhancing the taste of - fruit and vegetables. In 1941, a group of visionary farmers founded the Eferding Agricultural Cooperative, the forerunner of Efko. 

Subsequently, the trade of fresh fruit and vegetables began in the early 1950’s. “A jar of the finest“ embarked on the road to success.

Today, Efko specialises in the cultivation, harvest and preparation of 190 different varieties of fruit and vegetables and has established itself as the most important producer of pickles in Austria. The company has also been producing the finest quality salads since 1983.
