Carapelli 2012-03-08
Legend has it that the olive tree was created in a contest claimed by the Greek god Zeus. Intending to put the gods' creativity to test, Zeus offered up the town of Athens in exchange for the most useful gift. In the finals, Poseidon, God of the Sea, with his horse-gift met with Athena, Goddess of Wisdom, Warfare, Divine intelligence, and Crafts, who offered Zeus an olive tree. Eventually, Zeus picked the tree for its ability to provide food and fuel, to comfort pain and since it came as a blessing and peace token.
The story of Carapelli began in 1893, when Constantino Carapelli opened a family business selling olive oil. Since then, the name Carapelli has been synonymous with quality and innovation.
